I particularly needed a hotel close to the main station. Such districts can be poor but this area was fully acceptable, although had I had sightseeing in mind I may have gone elesewhere.

Top Tip
Decent dinner taken at main station buffet bar / restaurant. Reasonably priced for Switzerland.

Room was very standard with mismatching old furniture. Curtains did not cover all the gaps so room was overlooked by opposite buildings. Queen bed advertised was actually 2 singles pushed together so we kept falling through the gap. (the headboard was double so it was designed that way). Photos shown are of the one decent room in the hotel. Key for the room safe was lost by previous guests and no spare. Staff excellent and very helpfull however and the location was perfect, quiet street right next to HB station and the no4&13 tram.

Top Tip
Things are very expencive in the main streets but if you check out the back streets just off from belieuve tram stop then there are some really nice, cheaper (still not cheap) resturants, shops and bars. Also beneath HB station there is a hugh shopping complex underground. If your not too interested in museums and just want to check out the city then 3 days is more than enough (any more and you'll spend a fortune)

I was moved to another hotel (krone) as the one I booked originally was full. Certainly disappointing...
