Traveller from gloucester stayed in August,2008
Guest Comment:
I regret to say that the hotel was not to the standard described on the Internet.
The exterior of the hotel was dilapidated and required a significant makeover.
Our bathroom, separate shower room and toilet were more akin to a shabby bedsit, rather than a so called 4 star hotel. The white MDF laminated wardrobes looked as if they had been recovered from a tip.
The grouting in the bathroom was black with dirt (Rm 120)
with a constant smell of damp.
The walls were cracked in places and the skirting boards were decayed and in need of repair.
Our stay as you can see was less than satisfactory. The hotel needs to be reviewed again and if not improved downgraded to a 1 or 2 star rating.
Now to the staff. The Manager was an unpleasant individual who could hardly lift his head to speak to customers. This obviously had an effect on staff's attitude as well.
They never greeted you warmly at the reception let alone asked you how you were enjoying your stay. They were dressed in an unprofessional manner, no smart uniform, no real interest in their appearance.
However the restaurant and restaurant staff were excellant and in our view the only redeeming feature of the hotel. We were surprised though that a 4 star hotel could not produce any sort of meal on a Sunday!!!
I have been to many international hotels large and small. I have never felt the need to return this type of feedback.
However on this ocassion I feel that needs must. We relied on the information provided online. It really clouded what was to be a superb short break in Zurich.
This was by far the worst small hotel I have ever stayed at.
Top Tip:
Please do blogs of the hotel so we can all see how the customers really feel about hotels rather than the usual spin!
